Frequently Asked Questions

What is planned giving?
Any gift given for any amount and for any purpose whether for current or deferred use, which requires the assistance of a professional staff person, a qualified volunteer or the donor's advisors to complete. In addition, it includes any gift that is carefully considered by a donor in light of estate or financial plans.

Why should I make a planned gift?
Private philanthropy has become one of America's most valued traditions. Each year millions of people find creative ways to contribute to their favorite non-profit organizations. The reason for making a gift to the Del E. Webb Center may be different for each donor — to honor a loved one, to support a tradition of excellence or to express gratitude for a service well-performed. Whatever the motivation for your gift, a planned gift can give you the assurance that you are being a good steward of your assets by increasing the benefits for yourself, family members, and the organization receiving the gift.

How will my gift be used?
As a donor, you have the option to choose between an unrestricted or restricted planned gift. It is up to you to determine the preference and designation of your gift.
     Unrestricted:
When leaving an unrestricted planned gift, the donor allows the funds to be used at the
recipient's discretion to further artistic and educational programs.
     Restricted:
When leaving a restricted planned gift, you determine which artistic or educational
     program you would like fund.

What types of planned gifts are accepted?
Different types of planned gifts are appropriate for specific purposes and certain assets are suitable for particular structures of gifts.
Bequests are a vital part of the Del E. Webb Center's "Legacy Society". To request the Del
     E. Webb Center be added to your will or estate plan, you must specify the following
     information:

Legal Name

The Wickenburg Foundation for the Performing Arts

Street Address

2001 W Wickenburg Way, Suite 3
Wickenburg, AZ 85390

Federal Tax ID

86-0873249

Sample Wording
"I give, devise and bequeath to the Wickenburg Foundation for the Performing Arts of Wickenburg, Arizona, a charitable non-profit organization, the sum of __________________________ dollars ($_________ ) or ________________________ percent ( _______%) of my estate to be used to at the discretion of the organization."

Life Income Gifts benefit both the Del E. Webb Center and donors. Donors can receive
numerous tax and financial benefits by creating a life income gift, such as a charitable gift
annuity or charitable remainder trust. The donor makes an irrevocable contribution of
assets to fund the trust or annuity, may claim an immediate income tax deduction for part
of the contribution's value, and also receives income for life or for a fixed term of years.
When the trust or annuity term ends, the remaining assets can be directed to support
     programs at the Webb Center.

Charitable Lead Trusts can make an agreed payment to the Del E. Webb Center for the
Performing Arts for a specific term of years or for someone's life. Thereafter, the lead trust
assets are either returned to the person who created the lead trust (this person also
receives an income tax deduction when the trust is created) or passed on to children,
grandchildren or other loved ones (applicable estate or gift taxes on the value of the gift
to the child or other heir are reduced or completely eliminated.)

Real Estate Gifts can provide funding for life income gifts or establish a retained life estate.
A retained life estate allows a person to donate his or her home or vacation home to The
Del E. Webb Center yet still reserve the right to live in and use the property for the rest of
his or her life while generating a current charitable deduction for part of the value of the
     property.

Outright gifts of tangible personal property (assets other than cash and publicly traded
securities) can have differing tax consequences depending upon how long that asset has
been held and whether it is related to the charitable purposes of the Webb Center. These
questions should be evaluated prior to making the gift.

Once your decision is made, please download our Planned Giving Form (PDF). Complete and return to the Del E. Webb Center box office. This form is NOT binding, but helps us keep proper records and provides some future budgetary insight.
