WICKENBURG, AZ - The Webb Centers eighth annual Camp Imagination is recruiting volunteers. The camp, which runs from June 7-18, relies on 30 volunteers to assist with all of Camps operational aspects, ranging from overseeing campers to assisting with teaching artists in the classroom.
“Our volunteers are what make camp so special,” stated Webb Center Director, Cathy Weiss. “There is so much behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done and they make sure camp runs smoothly. Their work lets the teaching artists focus on engaging campers in the magic of the arts.”
Volunteers do not need to have prior experience in the arts or with camp. They need to be physically able to care for children, be willing to participate in camp activities and have a desire to enrich the lives of 101 first through twelfth graders. Duties will be assigned based on the volunteers preference, its availability and staffing needs.
“A volunteer does not need to be at camp every day,” added Debbie Manning, Camp Imagination’s Volunteer Coordinator. “Whether you can only make it for two days or the full two weeks, we would love to have you be a part of this wonderful program! We are requesting that volunteers register in advance so we that may ensure the proper number are available each day for the safety of our campers. It also guarantees that you receive a Camp Imagination T-shirt!”
Volunteers will be needed weekdays June 7-16 from 8:15 am – 1 pm; and June 17-18 beginning at 5:00pm. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should contact Debbie Manning, Volunteer Coordinator at 684-7265 or the Webb Center Box Office at 684-6624 for full details.
