WICKENBURG, AZ -
Cowboy balladeer Don Edwards will appear at the Del E. Webb Center for one performance on Sunday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m.
Grammy nominated singer-guitarist Don Edwards continues to build a legacy that enriches our vision of the American West. The quality of this cowboys music stems from the fact that he is so much more than a singer. Bobby Weaver of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City summed it up, “Edwards is the best purveyor of cowboy music in America today.”
A historian, author, and musicologist, well versed in cowboy and musical traditions, Don brings a rare complement of knowing and loving his craft to his performance. The son of a vaudeville magician, Don was originally drawn to the cowboy life by the books of Will James and he has always loved the “B” Westerns of the silver screen.
He taught himself guitar at age of ten, and 1961, he got his first professional job as an actor/singer/stuntman at Six Flags Over Texas. His career has spanned more than four decades, enriching audiences worldwide with authentic Western music and cowboy lore.
To add to Mr. Edwards awards and accolades over his career, this April Don will accept the Chester Reynolds Memorial Award at the National Cowboy Museum and will be inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers.
The richness of Dons voice coupled with an unforgettable stage presentation make him Americas number one Western singer.
